BRAC University Vice-Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang called on Honorable President and the Chancellor of BRAC University Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
During the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Chang highlighted the immense importance of developing local human resources at the global standard and how that can move Bangladesh’s economy to the next level. The meeting also discussed the great positive impact that can be derived from outside the classroom learning.
The Vice-Chancellor briefed the President on the strategic drive of the university, which is consistent with Bangladesh’s higher education strategy. President Hamid responded by encouraging BRAC University’s commitment to impactful research and innovation, international collaborations and student centric initiatives. Vice-Chancellor Chang also updated the President on BRAC University’s collaborations with international university networks, its recent tie ups with reputed international universities, its resilient response to Covid-19 and its growth even in this challenging time.
“There is no alternative to ensuring quality education to produce skilled human resource,” the President said. Research and innovation need to be intensified at the universities, he commented. The President also directed all universities to ensure quality education and formulate time-befitting curriculum so that the new generation can compete globally. The president expressed his expectation to see BRAC University to lead by example in the higher education sector of Bangladesh.
Vice-Chancellor Chang presented the Annual Report of the university to the President. He invited the President to attend the next convocation of the university.
President's Office Secretary Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salahuddin Islam, Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin, Secretary (attachment) Md Wahidul Islam Khan and BRAC University Registrar Dr. David Dowland were present in the meeting.
