Amelia Marstaller is from the United States and is a visiting fellow at the BRAC Institute of Languages (BIL) taking the course English Fundamentals from October 2022. She has a Master's In Teaching (MAT) and enjoys working in multicultural classrooms and using student knowledge and experience as the foundation for course content.
In the United States, Amelia teaches 11th and 12th-grade world literature in public schools. Most of her students have immigrated (many as refugees) to the US and speak other languages. This is her first time in Bangladesh, and she is excited to learn from the faculty and students here.
She also has profound interest in learning other languages (working on Bangla), singing (including local language songs), cooking (always eager to learn new recipes), and reading (on the lookout for book recommendations for South Asian literature).
