A healthy lifestyle with inner satisfaction is one of the vital components of psychological well-being. Feeling accomplished requires achieving success by focusing on life goals. A vital period for this is young adulthood when a person can learn of one’s inner self and design one’s life accordingly. Sometimes a person may not know the purpose of his/her life and may want to know how to reach a particular goal in life. In order to provide the solutions to students, the Counseling Unit of BRAC University organized a workshop on “Understanding Goals in Life” on 21 August, 2023 through two sessions.
Organized by Anne Anthonia Baroi and Safina Binte Enayet, Psychosocial Counselors and Lecturers of the Counseling Unit, and co-facilitated by Zayed Bin Farid, Counselor of BRAC University’s Residential Semester in Savar, this workshop helped students understand their goals and why they chose those. Discussions also centered on how goals change as life progresses and how one can have a better understanding about them. This was helpful for students in connecting with themselves and plan accordingly.
Moreover, Sadmeena Mahreen Promi and Tawhid Orpon, two senior students, shared their experiences on reaching desired destinations apart from continuing with their
academic lives in BRAC University. They informed of the challenges they faced and ways they overcame those.
