Dr Mohammad Faruk, Assistant Professor of the Department of Architecture of BRAC University has recently visited the School of Built Environment at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. He was nominated by BRACU to represent its Department of Architecture at the meeting held between the School of Built Environment UNSW and leading Bangladeshi Universities. The UNSW delegation was headed by Professor Alec Tzannes, Dean of the School of Built Environment. Among others, delegates of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) and Bangladeshi Architects in Australia (BaA) were present at the meeting.
The meeting explored opportunities between UNSW and Bangladeshi Universities to discuss possible joint academic program, research, student and faculty exchange between the universities working in the broader field of Architecture and Built Environment. Dr Faruk has made a presentation on BRAC University, the Department of Architecture, and its academic curriculam & research strengths. The UNSW delegation has taken a keen interest in the diversified types of courses offered by the Department of Architecture of BRACU and its people centered research relevant to the development of the country in relation to global issues in architecture. A follow up meeting will be held in Dhaka in early 2015 when delegates of UNSW will visit key officials of BRAC University to take this endeavor further.
