Students from the studio ARC201 visited two contemporary buildings designed by eminent and one of the pioneer architect Bashirul Haq. One is the East West University and the other one is the Architect’s own residence. The students were accompanied by the architect himself. He shared his ideas and design strategies with the students while visiting these two projects. Others studio instructors Sheikh Rubaiya Sultana, Dr. Habib Reza, Md. Shajjad Hossain and Farsha Zaman were also with the team. The students were required to design a residence in light of the experience and understanding gathered through the visit.
The 1st year students (ARC112: Graphic Communication) of the department of Architecture traveled to Manikganj in the last week of November 2014 to visit an architectural project design by Architect Bashirul Haq. The project was Shabuj Shona Center for PRISM Bangladesh. The students photographed and measured the building and after coming back to classroom, produced detail drawings which were part of the final graphic communication project of the course. Studio Teachers A.K.M. Sirajuddin, Dr. Habib Reza, Md. Shajjad Hossain and Farasha Zaman were conducted the tour.
