Akash Ahmed is a lecturer in Microbiology Program at the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Brac University, Dhaka. He has completed his Bachelor’s in Microbiology from the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Brac University, Dhaka and Master’s in Microbiology from the Department of Microbiology, Jagannath University Dhaka. He did his B.S. thesis on antibiotic resistant bacteria: A prospective study on the efficiency of ciprofloxacin in combination with chloramphenicol and probiotics against multiple antibiotic resistant bacteria in Microbiology laboratory in the department of Mathematics and Natural Science, Brac University. During his master degree he continued working on antibiotic resistant bacteria and his research title was “Isolation of qnrB and gyrA gene from levofloxacin resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa and identification of potential mutation in gyrA gene.” Currently, he is focusing on the effect of biocides and pesticides on bacterial metabolism.
