BRAC University has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Grameen Phone, an initiative aimed at fostering University-Industry collaboration. The MoU signing ceremony took place at GPHOUSE, Bahsundhara on November 29. Pro-VC of BRAC University – Professor Ansar Ahmed, Ph.D.,  signed the MoU on behalf of BRACU. Quazi Mohammad Shahed, Chief Human Resources Officer of Grameenphone, signed the MoU on behalf of GP. Also present were Prof. Dr. M A Mottalib, (Chairperson, CSE dept.), Hossain Arif (Assistant Professor, CSE dept.), Reduan Hasan Khan (Head of IoT, GP), and Masud Mushfiq Zaman (Head of OD, GP).

Collaboration between Industry and University is quite rare in Bangladesh, even though it is very common in USA, Europe, and other developed countries. Such collaboration is very beneficial for both sides, and can greatly enhance innovation through knowledge exchange. BRACU aims to play a leading role in such collaborative initiatives.

This will provide BRACU students with the opportunity to work on collaborative projects in the fields of Big Data, IoT, and other emerging technologies. Students will greatly benefit from this experience of working on practical and world-class projects, in partnership with GP professionals.
