Happy Rain (2015) focuses on the resiliency of Bangladesh and shows that the country has considerable potential to uplift itself. Happy Rain is about the development of fish farming in the low flooded lands (post-monsoon rain) in what were in another season the rice paddy fields of Daudkandi (2 hours South-East of Dhaka). Every year, rivers and streams descending from China, Nepal, Bhutan, and India converge and overflow, flooding and nourishing the Bangladeshi soil through the long monsoon months. This enriching process opens up opportunities for the local people in the region.
Dr. Isabelle Antunés was present at BRACU on this occasion. The event concluded with a question and answer session.
