The fourth batch of Nagasaki University intern students presented their findings on Thursday 28th August to an audience from BIGH, icddr,b, JICA, BRAC and others. The students undertook an extensive field trip of south-west of Bangladesh, primarily in Satkhira, Khulna and Jessore to understand and examine primary health care facilities and service delivery modalities by government and NGO providers independently or in coordination. The presentation mainly focused on their reflections from the field including recommendations on strengthening current health programmes. They have identified the need for greater co-ordination between government, donor and NGO activities to maximise impact.
The students come from a varied professional background are all MPH students currently enrolled at Nagasaki University, they were accompanied by senior faculty represented the students as a part of their internship programme for the past three years with JPGSPH, BIGH.
