BRAC University Communication and Language Club had held their fifth Weekly Speaking Session on 8 July 2015. The event, which took place at the Listening Lab of Building 2, had an attendance of a total of 42 students. The session was themed ‘Context Building’ and was hosted by Mr. Alvi Nazmus Sakib and Mr. Kazi Tawhid from the BRAC University Communication and Language Club. The program was divided into two segments, with the first one involving group acting in a play around the theme “Fantasy”. The participants were divided into groups of 5 or 6 and each group was given a vocabulary list related to fantasy and reality, and they had to use those words in their play building proper context around the words. In the second half of the program, the participants formed separate groups of 4 students, and each group was given one adjective. Any number of people from each group had to act out a situation to build appropriate context where one of the members portrayed that particular adjective without uttering the exact word, and the other groups had to guess what adjective was given to the performing group based on a list provided to them. The best performers from each segment were awarded winners.
