A team from JPGSPH attended the Fourth Global Symposium on Health Systems Research (HSR2016) in Vancouver, Canada between 16 ‐ 18 November. Health Systems Global organises a symposium every two years to bring together its members with the broad range of players involved in health systems and policy research. This year’s symposium focused on building resilient and responsive health systems.
Malabika Sarker, Syed Masud Ahmed, Taufique Joarder, Tahmina Akter, Nadia Ishrat Alamgir, and Syeda Seama Mowri participated at the Symposium by attending various plenary sessions and the School also had a stall to showcase JPGSPH’s four core areas of expertise: Education, Training, Research and Advocacy. Professor Sarker was a panelist on a session on applied implementation science that focused on applied research and partnership governance; Dr Joarder actively participated in numerous thematic working groups, while Ms Alamgir and Ms Akter had poster presentations on universal health coverage and the Reachout project. Overall participation at the Symposium was strong as the stall received a lot of visitors and foot traffic.
