A lecture on Indigenous Languages of Bangladesh organised under the ENH Seminar Series was delivered by Mohammad Zakaria Rahman of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore on 12th November, 2017. The paper was titled: Contact-Induced Changes: Structural Convergence in Hyow, a Tibeto-Burman Language of Bangladesh and highlighted how structural convergence is a possible outcome of language contact in a micro or a macro linguistic area. Rahman spoke about the relative-correlative constructions in Bangla and Hyow, a Tibeto-Burman Language of Bangladesh.
On 21st November, Aruna Chakravarti spoke about her book Jorasanko and its sequel Daughters of Jorasanko. The talk which was followed by reading of extracts from the books generated a very animated response from the audience.
