BRAC University (BRACU) celebrated Victory Day and paid homage to freedom fighters and martyrs of the Liberation War through a daylong programme on its Mohakhali campus in Dhaka on Monday, 17 December 2018.
ART Society BRAC University presented “Bijoyer Rong”, an exhibition of paintings and street motifs, while BRAC University Cultural Club a cultural programme in the Indoor Games Room. They were brought together by the Office of Co-curricular Activities (OCA).
Addressing the programme, Registrar Lt Col Md Foyzul Islam (Retd) spoke on the importance of the young generation’s duties and responsibilities towards upholding the spirit of the Liberation War.
Narrating his experiences on the battlefield, freedom fighter Professor Md Abdul Mottalib, PhD, chairperson of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) expressed hope that Bangladesh’s young generation would work with their utmost dedication to achieve the Liberation War’s key aims.
Professor Shahidul Islam Khan, PhD, chairperson of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Dilara Afroz Khan Rupa, assistant professor of BRAC Business School and director of the OCA, also spoke at the event.
