The School of Engineering and Computer Science (SECS), the largest and fastest growing school, has been the core of BracU since its inception in 2001. The growth of SECS parallels with BracU’s rise to the top. The School of Engineering and Computer Science intends to be the globally-recognized eminent engineering and computing school through excellence in teaching, research, innovation and technological entrepreneurship. It is our mission to produce technically competent, socially responsible, best quality engineering and computing graduates with effective communication skills, highest ethical standards and human values.
With one of the finest faculty pool in the entire nation, BracU School of Engineering and Computer Science provides knowledge and skill-based learning environment to our students. Over the last several years, SECS has been ramping up enrollment, faculty and facilities, making the school as one of the best places to study Engineering and Computing in the country. Today, SECS is the home of 100+ faculty members, 2500+ alumni and 4500+ undergraduate and graduate students in its 9 academic programs under two departments, namely, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. All of the undergraduate programs are accredited by the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE).
The SECS faculty members and researchers are working with our students to solve some of the society's most pressing and unique challenges in the context of Bangladesh. Our faculty members are actively pursuing interdisciplinary research in engineering and computing, power and energy, robotics and automation, communication technology, data analytics and machine learning. The student and researcher of SECS developed the nation’s first Nano-satellite “Brac Onnesha”, which contributed Bangladesh becoming one of the active member of the space-age.
