The School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Brac University welcomes you and invites you to join a journey of discovery. Founded in 2019, our School supervises BU’s teaching and research activities in the liberal arts. Professors Samia Huq and Philippe Forêt are leading SHSS as acting and inaugural deans.
The professors of SHSS prepare students to the challenges of the 21st century by developing ethical and analytical skills that are critical to autonomy, resilience, innovation, and recovery. As should be expected from a faculty trained in several of the best universities in the world, our connections to leading international institutions are extensive. We participate in several global initiatives that mobilize knowledge and society and reflect the values and commitments of BRAC to justice and empowerment.
The departments of our School offer:
- a Master of Arts in English,
- a Master of Science in Applied Economics,
- a Bachelor of Arts in English,
- two Bachelors of Social Science in Economics and Anthropology,
- minors in Anthropology, Economics, History, and Sociology.
