BRAC University ushered in the arrival of spring, known as Rituraj Basant, with a kaleidoscope of colors and festivities across its campus premises. On Wednesday, February 14, 2024, the campus came alive with spring celebrations and the auspicious observance of Saraswati Puja, invoking blessings for knowledge and enlightenment.
Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Syed Mahfuzul Aziz, extended warm wishes to all, including faculty and students, acknowledging the significance of the occasion. The campus resonated with spiritual fervor as Saraswati Puja commenced in the multipurpose hall, with Hindu students offering flower and prayers to the revered Goddess Saraswati, seeking wisdom and enlightenment.
Simultaneously, Student Life, BRAC University orchestrated a vibrant spring festival, hosting an array of traditional events in front of the multipurpose hall. From Manda-Mithai to Phuchka-Velpuri, students embraced the spirit of spring with enthusiasm, creating a festive atmosphere filled with laughter and joy.
The Office of the Vice-Chancellor elevated the celebrations at the campus rooftop, welcoming The Spring with a Pitha festival, colorful events, and a lively photo booths. The event saw the participation of prominent Musician Sadi Mohammad and esteemed personalities like Professor Zainab Farooqui, Chairperson of the Department of Architecture. The climax of the festivities was marked by the rendition of "Aha Aji Ei Bosonte," bringing everyone together in the spirit of unity and celebration.
Addressing the gathering, Acting Vice-Chancellor Syed Mahfuzul Aziz remarked, "Today marks a historic moment in the history of BRAC University. This vibrant spring celebration on our new campus symbolizes the collective efforts and contributions of the entire university community. The residential Semester of BRAC University at Savar also observed the day with colorful events. With a student population of 1418 in RS Batch 65, the event brought together the entire community in a joyous gathering.
The cultural programs featured an array of performances, showcasing the diverse talents of the students. From traditional dances to modern renditions, students enthralled the audience with their captivating performances.
One of the highlights of the event was the photo corner designed and executed by RS students, providing an opportunity for students to capture memorable moments amidst the festivities.
