A two day first aid training was organized recently by the Operations department of BRAC University in collaboration with Bangladesh Red Crescent Society. The Training took place at the University’s Mohakhali campus auditorium.
Mohammad Sajedul Karim, Director, Operations, inaugurated the training which was participated by 25 employees, including representatives of emergency response teams from each of the university’s eight buildings, medical centers from the Mohakhali and Savar campuses, Student Life and core operations team, including security.
The key objective of this training was to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge to the participants on first aid responses in an emergency situation with regard to choking, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), bleeding, wounds, burns, poisoning and transportation of casualties. The program also sought to create a pool of first aid trainers for the university.
The participants were presented certificates by BRAC University Registrar Dr Dave Dowland in the presence of Ekram Elahi Chowdhury, Director, Training Department, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society.
