BRAC University took part in a two-day “GPH Ispat-Prothom Alo University Admission Festival-2023” launching at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka on July 23, drawing a huge number of parents and prospective admission seekers. Visiting students and parents got the chance to see what BRAC universities have to offer for their bright academic future. BRAC University showcased its unique features and achievements and also provided admission counseling service to prospective students.
Setting up a stall, the university provided comprehensive information about admission procedures and scholarship updates alongside credit transfer opportunities to foreign universities.
On the first day of the fair, BRAC University Board of Trustees Member Rasheda K Choudhury, also former advisor to a caretaker government of Bangladesh and executive Director of Campaign for Popular Education, and Secretary Dr David Dowland, also Registrar and Controller of Examinations, took part in a dialogue titled “Challenges and transitions in PhD Research in private universities”.
Rasheda K Choudhury, said that the University Grants Commission (UGC) make a policy with some conditions and allow private universities to carry out PhD programmes. Dr Dave Dowland suggested to create a quality assurance system to safeguard the standards of PhDs and are good international quality assurance models to use as reference points.
A total of 45 institutions, including British Council and EMK Center, and 34 universities, took part in the event.
