The four day workshop on Digital photography organized by The BRAC University Photography Club (BUPC), was the latest in a series of events promoting innovations in photography and Obaidul Fatah Tanvir who has conducted many workshops and even a course on Visual Representation using digital media at the University of East London (UEL), conducted the workshop. Practicing professional photography for the last 15 years and using digital technology in photography for the last six, he has held many exhibitions at home and abroad and has several publications including Postcards from Bangladesh. The founder member of MAP Photo agency but working independently since 1998, he has worked for many prestigious organizations including UNICEF, DFID and the British Council. The workshop which started on the March 18, 2005 introduced members of the club to everything relevant, starting from picking out the right camera, to technical issues of white balance, shutter speed, aperture, to storing and later using software to manipulate the photos. Sessions outcome included an outing and discourse on the pictures shot in the field, relating to styles, composition, subject matter, image manipulation and portfolio making.
