Professor Vincent Chang was looking forward to visit high schools as a part of his strategy to reposition BracU at a new level to the teenagers. His purpose was to get to know about the thoughts and views of fresh graduates of this country as they are entering to tertiary level education.
So, when Scholastica School invited Brac University (BracU) President and Vice Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang to motivate students as a chief guest of the graduation ceremony of class 2019, he accepted that invitation.
Prior to that, Prof. Chang visited Scholastica School in Mirpur, Dhaka on Wednesday, 26 June 2019. It was his first visit to a high school after joining BracU which was not that formal.
At a short and friendly meeting with the management of the school he expressed that the philosophy of this school matched with his own regarding education. He was so impressed by the learning environment of the school that made him taking photos of handmade posters by students.
While addressing to the students Prof. Chang said that it is ok to fail miserably even after putting in effort because it is the only way one can really learn. He shared that he had faced rejection many times in his professional life. Something that was same for many famous persons as well, he said.
He was fully engaged with the students and parents throughout the event. Seemed like he not only motivated the youth by his words but also shared a positive vive with them.
He also enjoyed cultural performances by the students and later cut a cake with them. In a nutshell, the entire event left such an essence that might be cherished for future.
