USAID Team Visits BU

A three member team led by Ms. Rebecca Scheurer, Program Operations Specialist of the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance, USAID, Washington DC, visited BU on October 16, 2002 to follow up the progress of launching Urban Disaster Mitigation (UDM) Program at BU. The other members of the team were Mr. Michael Lippe of Management Systems International and Ms. Jeanne Moulton, consultant in Education and Training. The Team Leader explained the purpose of the visit and described the role of USAID in foreign disaster assistance. Professor Abdur Rab, Chairperson of Management and Business introduced BU to the team and re-emphasized the commitment of BU to introduce and run the UDM Program. He informed that a team from Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) visited BU couple of months ago and proposed to assist BU in launching the UDM Program. Dr. Fuad H Mallick, Chairperson of the Department of Architecture, BU was also present during the meeting.
