Office of Academic Advising (OAA) of BRAC University (BRACU) arranged a meeting with the parents of freshmen of Fall 2018 semester at the auditorium of it’s Mohakhali campus on Sunday, 14 October 2018 at 9am.
The objective of this meeting was to make parents aware of the activities and services of OAA and to answer their queries.
Assistant Professor of BRAC Business School and Director of OAA, Dilara Afroz Khan said that OAA helps students to solve all types of academic and nonacademic incompetence by following community approach.
She added that OAA works cooperatively with parents by providing guideline to students to cope up with new challenges of University life.
Deputy Controller, Nazmus Sabeka said that students who scores CGPA 2 or less is marked as weak or probation and OAA helps these students with instruction to improve their CGPA. But if anyone repeat the same score in next semester university authority can expel that student from the university.
Psychosocial Counselor, Lecturer and Coordinator, Shami Suhrid screened a short video on the activities of counseling unit.
He suggested parents to contact with counseling unit, if they notice any unusual behavioral change in their children. Counseling unit will help that student with confidentiality and empathy, he added.
Director OAA, answered all quires of the parents and moderated the entire event.
