The HULT Prize is the largest students' competition in the world organized by the HULT Prize Foundation in collaboration with the United Nations (http://www.hultprize.org/challenge/). Brac Business School has been organizing the campus round of HULT Prize since 2014. Staying true to the past and following the massive success that the past winners of HULT Prize at Brac University had in previous years, this year the competition has been launched in the campus in December 2018 and Team Elpida is the On-Campus Winners of Hult Prize 2019 who will be representing Brac University to pitch their social business idea in Shanghai, China. There are fifty three other universities competing for the same cause in Shanghai Regional and HULT Prize will pick top 6. The winning team gets to go to the Castle round in London.
Team Elpida’s idea is to create employment in the renewable energy sector through training and connecting the youth. Bangladesh Biogas Development Foundation (BBDF) has been assisting and supporting them with their business from 'ideation' stage since December 2018. Brac Social Innovation Lab has worked with them directly on piloting their idea. LR Global has sat with them several times to crisp up their finance model.
Their seed funding, travel and allowance is covered by Brac Business School, Brac University. Ms. Mahreen Mamoon, Assistant Professor of Brac Business School is accompanying them as their mentor. Keep them in your prayers so that they can bring glory and pride for Brac University.
