Brac University observed the Language Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day in a befitting manner by placing floral wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar on Sunday morning. A team of Brac University delegates, led by the Director of Operations Mr. Rehan Ahmed paid tribute to the language martyrs.
International students of Brac University also took the opportunity to pay their tribute to language martyrs at Savar Residential Campus. Moving through the campus the procession paid a wreath of flowers on the premise of Shaheed Minar to pay homage to the martyrs of the Language Movement. The day started with the morning procession at 7am.
“The observation of the International Mother Language Day was so beautiful” said Tamuno stella Oraboma, from Nigeria. “I was very happy when I heard about the international mother language day. I couldn't resist joining the tribute” said Kamaldeen Adewole Zakariyah, her fellow Nigerian student. Both of them expressed their pleasure to be the part of this event.
“This was the most massive, inclusive and beautiful event I've ever attended. Celebrating the History of the Bangla Language enabled me to realize how dying for the mother language gives one’s life a meaning” said Ggaliwango Marvin, another International student studying at Brac Univrsity.
