Key Responsibilities for Research Associate
- Develop research objectives, projects and proposals
- Perform business development tasks as and when required
- Identify sources of funding and contribute to the process of securing funds
- Data collection from primary and secondary sources. This will need visiting field areas as and when required.
- Make presentations at conferences or exhibit work in other appropriate events
- Explore the relevant literature and reference searches on issues relating to climate change, vulnerability and risk, dynamics of char and islands of Bangladesh
- Provide extensive support to prepare report/s
- Assist in preparing a checklist on different aspects to collect primary data for feasibility, baseline and feasibility studies
- Monitor and guide the survey team to collect primary data from selected areas
- Provide support to analyze the vulnerability of communities under the lens of climate change and identify the key development deficit and needs to enhance their resilience
- To the brief analysis of current and emerging issues and trends of climate change and adaptation processes in Bangladesh
Requirements
- Minimum Master’s degree in Climate Change, Environmental Science and Management, GIS and Remote Sensing, Geography, Civil and Water Resource Engineering, Social Science and relevant any other fields.
- 2-4 years’ experience in relevant field and research work.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and are adept at building relationships with different stakeholders and donors
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Experience in capacity development and/or mentoring an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in Bangla and English
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to work in a team is essential
- Experience in using initiative and creativity to resolve problems, identifying suitable solutions and opportunities for improvements
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and service areas
- Flexible approach to work and positive response to changing requirements
- Understanding the importance of confidentiality
Key Responsibilities for Research Assistant
- Provide assistance to departmental activities, communication and administration
- Find potential RFP/ ToR/ EOI and perform business development tasks as and when required
- Data collection from primary and secondary sources. This will require field visits as and when required
- Write field reports, project reports and other research papers if required
- Assist in conducting research activities
- Assist with various tasks linked to organizational and sustentative dimensions of the project program and project implementations
- Prepare presentations
- Maintain documentation for different activities both office and project related
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management with excellent academic credentials
- One year of working experience in relevant fields and research work. Freshers are also encouraged to apply
