Ahsan Senan is a Lecturer of Economics at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of BRAC University. He joined BRAC University in the Summer of 2019. Before joining BRAC University, Ahsan received a MA in Economics degree from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada in 2018; an MS in Economics degree from North South University in 2015; and a BS in Economics degree from North South University in 2013.
Ahsan has seven-years of project experience. He is currently working as a Post-doctoral Research Associate for “Fast-track vaccine cold-chain assessment and design for mass scale COVID-19 vaccination in Bangladesh” funded by the Newton/Global Challenge Research Fund through the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). His previous project experiences include working as the Project Coordinator for “The Libertas Project: Evidence-based Advocacy to Advance Global Media Freedom” funded by the British High Commission, Dhaka and Foreign & Commonwealth Office UK, and working as the Task Manager for “Process and Performance Assessment Spot-checks for the 5 Major Social Safety-net Programs in Bangladesh” funded by the World Bank.
Ahsan currently teaches introductory and intermediate macroeconomics at the undergraduate level. He has previously taught introductory microeconomics and mathematics for business and economics. Ahsan’s primary research interest is in the area of access – be it access to grid-electricity, to social safety-nets, to free and fair media, or to vaccines.
