Prior to joining Brac University as a lecturer, Turzo Nicholas Mondal completed his Bachelor of Social Sciences in Anthropology from Brac University and Masters of Arts in History from Nalanda University. After his post-graduate studies, he joined Kerala Council for Historical Research (KCHR), India as a visiting researcher and studied the megalithic rock-cut burial caves of Kerala to study the archetype of the structures as a ritual space.
His research interest focuses on the prehistoric human migration in Indian subcontinent with a special attention to Bangladesh. Additionally, he likes to explore the interdisciplinary domain of rock art, ritual and performance studies, indigenous history and cultures, and the ancient history of the Indian subcontinent as well.
As a young scholar, he has contributed a chapter each in two edited volumes named “Reimagining South Asian Art, Culture and Archaeology” and “The Popular: A Critical Reader”.
He is also serving as the Program Coordinator of OSUN Science Shop.
