The Department also offers students the option of pursuing a minor in Anthropology. The minor program outlined below is designed to provide a thorough grounding in the conceptual, theoretical, and methodological foundations of the discipline, as well as the opportunity to explore more specialized areas according to their specific interests. This is ideal for students majoring in other disciplines, such as Economics or Law, who are interested in expanding their conceptual and methodological horizons by integrating an Anthropological approach with their own disciplinary perspectives, thereby developing a deeper understanding of the social world and human cultural diversity.
To be eligible for a minor in Anthropology, students are required to complete a total of 27 credit hours, of which a minimum of 12 credit hours (4 courses) must consist of core Anthropology courses, while the remaining 15 credit hours (5 courses) can consist of any of the other core or elective Anthropology courses on offer (see Tables 3 and 4).
The following courses are compulsory for all students pursuing a minor in Anthropology:

Students must take an additional 15 credit hours (5 courses) from the list of core and elective Anthropology courses given above (see Tables 3 and 4). These should be chosen upon consultation with students’ faculty advisors, based on their needs and interests, and subject to availability.
The ESS department also offers a Minor in Sociology. Sociology, as a discipline, has a long history of focusing in times of social transformation to respond to the changes carried out by different social, economic and political events. Sociological debates about inequality, power, governance, modernization, globalization and development have progressively increased the relevance of the discipline to the academics, policymakers and practitioners. The minor programme outlined below is designed realising the importance of this subject in today’s world.
