With the interactive teaching learning perspective in view and dedication to promote excellence in teaching, TLC has been organizing faculty orientation workshops at BRACU on a regular basis at the beginning of each semester to introduce new faculty members to the teaching and learning goals at BRAC University and to provide an early start to successful teaching careers. As a continuation of the development program, the TLC hosted its 14th Faculty Orientation Program on January 30, 2015 at BRAC University.
A total number of 65 new and recently appointed faculty members attended the orientation. The program commenced with opening remarks by Professor Syed Saad Andaleeb, Vice Chancellor and Professor Fuad Hasan Mallick, Pro-Vice Chancellor. In addition, Professor Riaz Partha Khan, Dean of Student Affairs and Director of TLC, Professor A. A. Ziauddin Ahmed, Chair of MNS department, and Associate Professor Mohammad Rezaur Razzak from BRAC Business School facilitated sessions on the academic culture and curriculum at BRAC University. Ms. Shadia Alam of HRD provided an overview of HR and administrative policies. Professor Riaz P. Khan also introduced the "Pedagogy Portal," an online curriculum of teaching resources and discussion forum for faculty members which is being launched by TLC in the current semester. The online modules will be offered periodically each month. TLC will present a certificate of completion to the participants of Faculty Development Program at BRACU. The orientation program concluded with question and answer session with senior faculty.
