Muhammad Ubaidul Haque, an alumnus of BRAC University who had attained his Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and School Improvement at the BRAC Institute of Educational Development, has been chosen for a Chevening scholarship.
Under the fully-funded scholarship (flights, accommodation and course fees) offered by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Haque will study Education and International Development at University College London. In 2023-24, the acceptance rate for the Chevening scholarship was around 2% and over 70,000 people had applied from all around the world.
Currently, Haque is working as an Outreach Delivery and Administrative Assistant at the University of Oxford. Previously he has worked as a Project Associate at the Centre for Peace and Justice of BRAC University and as a fellow of Teach for Bangladesh. He is also Founder and President of voluntary youth organization Bangladesh Youth Initiative. Haque attained his Bachelor of Social Science and Master of Social Science degrees in Public Administration from University of Dhaka.
Muhammad Ubaidul Haque expects the Chevening scholarship to hone his academic, leadership, professional, networking and partnership abilities to further invest in Bangladesh and its education system.
