The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) at BRAC University organised its business idea competition, "Pitch Masters," an event designed to unearth and support the brightest entrepreneurial minds among students at BRAC University.
The "Pitch Masters" competition is not only a one-time event but also a recurring opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative ideas and business acumen. The competition consistently stages for budding entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas, receive valuable feedback, and compete for prizes that can significantly bolster their business journey.
From an initial pool of fifty-seven talented participants, nine finalists were selected through a rigorous screening process. These finalists had the unique opportunity to present their innovative business ideas to our esteemed jury, consisting of Mr. Suman Chandra Saha, Deputy General Manager at the SME Foundation, Mr. Irfan Islam, Principal Advisor, iFarmer.asia, Mr. Riyashad Ahmed, Assistant Professor, BBS, BRAC University.
On October 19, 2023, the finalists pitched their business ideas in front of the jury, showcasing their passion, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. After careful deliberation, the jury has made its decision:
- Champion: “Eco Shelter”
- 1st Runner Up: “Score”
- 2nd Runner Up: “Just Dot”
Following the announcement of the "Pitch Masters" competition, CED organized a workshop on “Making Investor-Ready Pitch Decks”. This workshop was held on 23rd August 2023 to equip participants with the necessary tools and knowledge to create compelling and effective pitch decks that would not only resonate with the judges during the competition but also appeal to potential investors in the future.
CED offered the winners of the "Pitch Masters" competition a unique opportunity to develop their business ideas further and take their startups to the next level. Each of the top three winning teams - Eco Shelter, Score, and Just Dot - will receive three months of free business incubation support at the university's Business Incubation Centre (BIC), established and being managed by CED-BRACU.
