Debate Competition 2001 at BU

A two daylong debate competition was held at BU on 28-29 November 2001. A total of six teams, divided into two sides (Government & Opposition), participated in the competition in the format of British Parliamentary style. The final debate was held over the ic of "This house believes that Business graduates will dominate the 21st century". Four teams participated in the final debate. Prof. Syed Manzoorul Islam gave welcome speech before starting the final competition. CIS 1-debating team emerged as the champion and CIS 2 debating team emerged as the runner up. Sumaya Taj Andaleeb was declared the best speaker. The other member of her team was Sehabun Saqueeb. Lutful Kabir and Ziad Bin Hyder were the members of the runner up team. After the debate session, a prize giving ceremony was held where Prof. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice-Chancellor of BU, attended as the chief guest. The program was concluded through a vote of thanks given by Mr. Abdul Wohab, Advisor of the BU Debating Club.
