Dr. Fuad attends Workshop

Dr. Fuad H Mallick, Chairperson, Department of Architecture, BU attended a 3-day workshop on Reconstruction Needs Analysis, Planning and Implementation. The workshop was held in Bangkok from August 13 to 15, 2002 at The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, AIT. The World Bank and the Pro Vention Consortium organized the workshop. Participants from 14 different countries attended the Workshop. The workshop discussed issues related to priorities and methodologies in disaster reconstruction towards building less vulnerable structures, to resist future hazards. The existing methodologies of reconstruction planning were discussed and reviewed and the workshop concluded with the incorporation of new ideas generated by the participants.
