Shamdanee Tabriz, a former student of BRAC University and founder and Managing Director of Rapido Deliveries, a startup receiving support from BRAC University's Business Incubation Centre, has attended a Professional Fellowship Program in the United States on 30 September, 2022. Since 2011, the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) of BRAC University has been facilitating the fellowship program being run by the Gaylord College of the University of Oklahoma and funded by the US State Department.
Rapido Deliveries offers customized services to businesses through an application programming interface. Tabriz launched his venture on a very small scale and now employs over 200 people throughout Bangladesh. He has been working in the e-commerce and f-commerce industries for the past six years.
Tabriz received an interest-free seed loan from the CED and is an incubatee at Business Incubation Centre, which was established and is being managed by the CED, receiving incubation support, networking opportunities and essential services.
According to Tabriz, the CED has been of tremendous support, assisting Rapido Deliveries conduct scalability and feasibility analyses. He believes the US visit has enriched his business skills and provided a global networking opportunity to scale up Rapido Deliveries.
