Adventure lovers got the chance to leave their footprints at “Nafakhum Waterfall” under the Thanchi Upozilla of Bandarban district which is also known as the “Niagara falls” of Bangladesh. It was an official tour of BRAC University Adventure Club (BUAC) that was scheduled from 17th December to 21st December 2016.
Nafakhum is such a beautiful place that the diversity of natural elegance is beyond any description. President of BUAC, Abdullah Al Noman Nabil with Sixty adventure lovers and one faculty member, Sayeedul Islam Khan, dared to explore the remoteness land having a determination to win all the barriers.
After completing all the necessary preparation for the coming three days, the journey started at sharp 11 pm, Saturday, 17th December, from Kollanpur, Shyamoli bus counter. The team reached Bandarban at 7 am in the morning, 18th December. Finally it was time to start the real adventure and that was the road for Thanchi which is 79 km from Bandarban Sador, by Chander gari. Undoubtedly the peregrination by Chander gari was one the most exciting part of the whole tour. The next destination was Remakri village and the adventurous people went there by boat. Roaming around by boat in the river Sangu, revealed the inner beauty of Bangladesh which is commonly known as a land of rivers. After enjoying the campfire at the bank of the river Sangu, the next morning started the most awaited hiking to reach “Nafakhum”. It was a 3 hours long hard battle which included climbing small hills, overcoming stones and crossing over the water, the natural beauty of “Nafakhum” removed all the tiredness. Last but not the least, Nilgiri Hill Resort and also Nilachol were the other part of the memorable journey. Finally, the last dinner of the enjoyable tour was in Milanchari Resort and the destination was set towards Dhaka at 10 pm.
