Roufa Khanum, Coordinator (Operations), C3ER, BRAC University participated in development of proposed programme on addressing poverty and climate vulnerability organized by Oxfam on 25 April 2017 at Jamuna Meeting Room, RAOWA Complex, Oxfam in Bangladesh Country Office. The topographical setting of Bangladesh combined with environmental change makes it subject to calamitous catastrophic events. Specifically, Bangladesh's 600km coastline is a standout amongst the most catastrophe inclined areas in the world. Poverty is profound and broad; half of the populace lives on short of what one dollar for every day. Oxfam has been working since the independence of Bangladesh, through contributions during Liberation War, which have since continued over the last four decades through implementation of development initiatives. Over the past 7 years, Oxfam has implemented a programme named “Resilience through Economic Empowerment, Climate Adaptation, Leadership and Learning (REECALL)”. C3ER is also working as a strategic partner with Oxfam in Bangladesh since for last two years
