BRAC Business School (BBS) has arranged an interactive session of titled “Coffee with the CEOs” at the residential campus of BRAC University (BRACU) in Savar on MAy 20, 2017. The session was conducted under the theme on the following “Textile: The next destination for our business graduates”.
Some 200 people, mostly students of BBS, attended session, taken up as part of efforts to build strong relations in corporate-academia tie-ups and enlighten young minds in their first-year of tertiary education and instil in them a sense of belonging and responsibility for the nation.
BRACU Vice Chancellor Professor Syed Saad Andaleeb, Ph.D. attended the occasion as the special guest. Professor Dr. Iftekhar Ghani Chowdhury, Dean of BRAC Business School introduced the guests ; Mr. Abul Bashar Mahmood, Divisional Merchendising Manager, Li & Fung Bangladesh Ltd and Mr. Tareq Amin, Moderator, Editor & Publisher, Bangladesh Textile Today.
In his speech Professor Syed Saad Andaleeb, Ph.D. said that BRACU always aims to produce those graduate who are capable of taking challenges of nation building. He advised the students to think out of the box and came out of bookish knowledge so that there can be some new innovations. He also asked stakeholders from textiles industry to arrange career fair in BRACU to recruit business graduates.
Mr. Tareq Amin Said that youths are biggest resource for the country like Bangladesh. If they utilize their potential properly in textile industries then it can emrage as no.1 in the world.
Mr. Abul Bashar Mahmood pointed out that the importance of the textile industry in the economy of Bangladesh is very high. The industy also has scope for huge employement and they need young business graduates who can add value to it. He also emphasized on students being socially responsible.
There was a question & answer session where students were allowed to ask their queries to the guests. BRACU Vice Chancellor Professor Syed Saad Andaleeb, Ph.D. concluded the session which was followed by lunch.
