BRAC University (BRACU) arranged a seminar and cultural program to celebrate the historic speech of 7th March on Wednesday at its Mohakhali campus. BRAC University Cultural Club under the supervision of Office of Co-Curricular Activities organized the event at the BRACU auditorium at 3.00pm.
Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ansar Ahmed inaugurated the event as chief guest. This is a memorable speech that fires up a lot of things in me, he said. He encouraged students to hold the spirit of the Liberation War in every sphere of their life.
If we don’t try to know the history of the Liberation War, we won’t ever be able to understand our root as well as ourselves, said Registrar, Md. Foyzul Islam to the students.
Freedom fighter Professor Md. Abdul Mottalib, Ph.D. shared his experiences and thoughts with audiences. He said, the speech of 7th March of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is beyond all discussion and explanation. It motivated the nation to become united for the liberation war of 1971.
A documentary video on the speech of 7th March of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was screened. Students performed patriotic song, dance and recitation at the event. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Syed Saad Andaleeb, Ph.D. graced his presence and enjoyed the cultural programme.
Speakers condemn the recent incident of attacking on the prominent writer and Professor Muhammed Zafar Iqbal in their speech as well.
