The architecture department students successfully completed the "বসন্ত বিলাস" installation project during the residential semester in Spring 2024. Installations were erected on a real scale at different open locations within the Savar Residential Semester, utilizing locally sourced materials such as bamboo, jute, rope, and bamboo mats. This architectural endeavor aimed to enhance the construction skills of first-year architecture undergraduates while considering environmental elements like the sky, clouds, colors, light, music, and daily ambiance.
Students, working in teams of six, embarked on constructing their projects across the residential campus, where they acquired practical insights into the properties and behaviors of traditional materials. The jury panel comprised Md. Samiur Rahman Bhuiyan, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture, and Mahia Mustary Nushin, a lecturer in the Department of Architecture, BRAC University.
Collaborating with students from diverse departments, the architecture students honed their leadership, teamwork, camaraderie, and interpersonal skills, all integral aspects of the BRAC University Residential Semester experience.
