Professor
Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam is mainly specialized in data management, cleaning, analyzing, sampling size and sampling design .Expert in R, SPSS, and familiar with SQL, Python, STATA and other programs. Practical Worked experience as a data analyst and statistician in various projects (with project design, impact evaluation and monitoring).Deep knowledge in Macroeconomics data analysis and models building. Research interest in: Sample size and sampling Design, Time series Analysis, Temporal Disaggregation, Econometrics, Systems of National Accounts, Macroeconomics, Bangladesh economy, Sampling Techniques, Big data, Machine learning.. Language skill in English and Russian. He has been teaching since 2008 as well as in overseas country (Oman). Dr Islam worked as a Senior Researcher at the project “Digital RMG (Readymade Garments) Factory Mapping in Bangladesh (DRFM-B)” funded by C&A foundation under the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), BRAC University. Dr. Islam received my PhD degree in Macroeconomic Statistics from the Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics, December 2006 under Russian government scholarship. He also completed Post-doctoral Research Fellowship in the department of statistical sciences in Universita Degli Studi Di Padova, Italy, under the Research Fellowship of Erasmus Mundus Mobility with Asia (EMMA) funded by the European Commission, October 2009. Besides, Dr. Islam has successfully completed many online courses offered by MIT, Harvard University, JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY', The University of Texas at Austin, The IE BUSINESS SCHOOL, Madrid, Spain, DataCamp and others. He has 25 publications in national and international referred Journals and one book (PhD dissertation was published by the “Economic library” (online publication).
