BRAC University Law Society (BULS), recently organized a “Court Visit – Spring 2024” at the Supreme Court of Bangladesh for the Students of the School of Law, BRAC University of the Spring Semester 2024.
The students were accompanied by the esteemed faculty members of School of Law i.e., Mr. Md. Saimum Reza Talukder, Senior Lecturer, School of Law, Ms. Sazeeda Johora Thakur, Senior Lecturer, School of Law and Advisor, BRAC University Law Society, Ms. Anusheh Ali, Lecturer, School of Law, to inspire and share their experiences.
The students were divided into small groups and witnessed the Courtroom Procedures in five separate Courtrooms dealing with the Criminal matters, and Civil matters (Writ petitions, Vat, Tax etc.). By observing Courtroom proceedings, the students got a chance to observe the practical application of law which will assist them in pursuing a legal career in the future.
Moreover, the participating students of the Court visit were given the opportunity to explore the Supreme Court Bar Association and the library of the Supreme Court. Furthermore, the students encountered distinguished legal professionals who motivated the young legal minds to step into the legal field, serve and practice with courage.
During the visit, the faculty got the opportunity to meet and exchanged greetings with Mr. Md. Golam Rabbani, Registrar General, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Honorable Justice Naima Haider, Honorable Justice Iqbal Kabir and Honorable Justice Zafar Ahmed of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
BRACU Alumni Mr. Atique Towhidul Islam, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, coordinated the Court Visit with School of Law and BRAC University Law Society (BULS).
