Associate Professor Sharmina Hussain of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Brac University has attended two conferences.
The first was the 21st International Math Conference 2019, held from 6-8 December, 2019. The Department of Applied Mathematics of the University of Dhaka and Bangladesh Mathematical Society organised the event. It was held on the Applied Mathematics department’s premises.
The conference comprised informative and comprehensive presentations through keynotes, lectures and posters. Over 250 people from home and abroad shared experiences and information about their research. They were on practical operation and theoretical analysis of advanced mathematical computations of some scientific problems.
Dr Hussain presented findings of her research on 6 December, 2019. It was on “Heat and mass transfer response along horizontal circular heated cylinder for mixed convection flow”.
The other was a 4th Young Scientist Congress, held from 13-15 December, 2019. The Bangladesh Academy of Sciences organised the event at the National Museum of Science & Technology. It was themed “Young Scientists for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals”.
Over 150 people from different institutions in the country shared their experiences and research works. Dr Hussain presented an article on her research on 14 December, 2019.
