After their last prolific industrial tour at March, BRAC University Business Club (BIZBEE) organized another awaited tour at ACME Laboratories Ltd in Dhamrai, Dhaka on 4th November. The purpose of this day trip is to gather insight of how corporate bodies manage their production and distribution along with their route to success. A picnic for the club members was also arranged at Mohammadi Garden Picnic Spot in Dhamrai soon after the industrial visit concluded.
The members of BRAC University Business Club (BIZBEE) gathered around the premises of University early in the morning and left for Dhamrai by bus at around 8:30AM. Reaching the immense grounds of ACME Laboratories Ltd two hours later, everyone was gasping in awe looking at the production houses and state-of-the-art of the buildings. They were guided to an auditorium in the administrative building and shown a brief presentation. The presentation was conducted by Mr. Ahmed Bhuiyan, Head of operations at ACME Agrovet & Beverage Ltd. He gave a brief about the local industry that was established in 1954 that came to be known as ACME today.
The food and beverages unit of ACME Agrovet and Beverage Ltd was particularly highlighted as we were just beside their production houses. Also, the marketing and production of 40 ACME products were discussed along with their popular juices, drinking water & tea. This informative information of this company’s triumph in business was grasped by BIZBEE members. After the briefing, students were separated in groups with a supervisor and given the opportunity to look around the industrial area. ACME’s wondrous production machines and organized use of manpower was displayed. The utilization of raw materials to packaging of their final products was witnessed by the BIZBEE members. The visit concluded with a group picture at site and then heading to the buses again at afternoon.
After the educational aspect of the visit, a picnic was organized at Mohammadi Garden Picnic Spot in Dhamrai. This beautiful place situated within an urban area provided a unique escape from the city life. The members rested and then interacted through activities, games like football, cricket, volleyball in the pool and amusements followed by traditional lunch in the afternoon. BIZBEE believes that such outdoor expeditions inspire open minded aspirations and knowledge among the students.
