BRAC University Natural Sciences Club organised an annual poster presentation competition titled “Twenty-One-Ovation 2.0” on the theme “Progress of Medical Sciences in 21st Century and its Impact on the World” at BRAC University’s Mohakhali campus auditorium on Monday, 16 July 2018.
Shamiha Ashreen, Sujoy Sarkar and Nusrat Jalal of Team Innova were adjudged winners for their presentation of “Phase 1 Clinical trial of nerve growth factor (NGF) gene therapy for Alzheimer disease”.
Of the remaining 12 groups, Team Innovators won the second prize while Nothing Cooler than Absolute Zero the third.
Professor AFM Yusuf Haider, PhD, chairperson of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MNS), presented the prizes.
He appreciated the engagement of students in research, saying that this constructive work was positive for society and hoping that they would do better in the future.
The jury board comprised Assistant Professor Dr Iftekhar Bin Naser and Senior Lecturer Romana Siddique of the MNS department, Associate Professor Dr Mesbah Talukder and Senior Lecturer Md Samiul Alam Rajib of the Department of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr Md Khalilur Rahman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Assistant Professor Dr Hasanuzzaman Sagor of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Director of the Office of Co-curricular Activities, Dilara Afroz, inaugurated the program.
