Dr. Abu Saad Md. Masnun Al Mahi is currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Finance) at the BRAC Business School (BBS), BRAC University (BRACU). Before joining BRACU, Dr. Mahi enjoyed his academic journey at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). He also served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (Brunei).
He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Malaya (Malaysia) and received the University of Malaya Financial Aid to pursue his PhD. Also, he was a recipient of the prestigious Khazanah Foundation (Malaysian government-linked organization) Scholarship to pursue his Master of Science (Research) in Malaysia.
Before starting his academic journey, Dr. Mahi started his career as a Management Trainee Officer (MTO) at the Mercantile Bank Ltd. (Bangladesh) soon after completing his BBA and MBA from the Department of Finance and Banking, University of Rajshahi. Besides, during his higher studies, he worked as a researcher on a project funded by the Ministry of Higher Education (Malaysia) and the University of Malaya. He also had opportunities to work on other research projects and served as an honorary fellow of a research, data analytics and training company in Malaysia. Altogether, he had more than five years of research experience along with full-time and part-time industry experiences working in a bank and research, data analytics and training organization in Bangladesh and Malaysia prior to full-time teaching.
Dr. Mahi is actively publishing his research in reputed journals, published by renowned publishers like Elsevier, Emerald, Sage, and Springer, which are indexed in WoS/ISI, SCOPUS, ABS and ABDC. His current research broadly focuses on sustainability from the perspective of finance – Energy, Climate and Community. He has also been serving as a reviewer of several renowned journals related to his areas of expertise.
