As a part of the Freshman Orientation Program, each semester OAA arranges an interactive session for parents and guardians of the fresher students. During the session, the Director of OAA introduces the student services and campus resources that support student learning and development at Brac University. Programs offered by OAA such as Academic Advising, PASS and Tutorials are briefed to the parents. Also, representatives of the various academic and nonacademic departments provide detailed overviews of their respective programs and services for students. At the end of the sessions all the presenters respond to the queries of the parents. OAA meets with parents of fresher students before and after midterm exams to inform grading system, credit hours, academic standards and policies of BracU and to evaluate midterm performance of their children. Also in each semester OAA meets the Parents of first time Probation Students to create awareness among Parents and to suggest different ways of developing students’ academic skills and processes of guiding students to overcome Probation.
