On April 18, 2019, Dr. Tomoyuki Ota, PhD from Kyoiku Joho Service (KJS) Company Ltd, Miyazaki, Japan has visited the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of Brac University. They have discussed how to cater for the needs of the students of Bangladesh to provide enhanced education services through e-learning technology. The participants included Dr. Md. Golam Rabiul Alam, Associate Professor, Dr. Iftekharul Mobin, Assistant Professor, and Annajiat Alim Rasel, Lecturer III, CSE.
Their discussion included how to encourage students to study more to enhance their knowledge and skills utilizing e-learning tools as a support for their regular classroom education, the expectations of the educators as well as the students from any effective e-learning system in order to improve the teaching-learning experience, etc. In the KJS name, Kyoiku means Education and Joho means Information. KJS tries to provide the comprehensive solution from making system to creating and distributing educational contents. They have achieved proven success through BJIT Academy, Bangladesh by training students for the challenging international Information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE). Students who adopted the e-learning technology have higher success rate at the ITEE. The ThinkBoard software from KJS helps educators to create highly compressed and internet bandwidth friendly distributable learning contents. Another KJS Learning Management System (LMS) enables students to learn, practice and evaluate their learning through model exams. The discussion concluded with a vision for improved education for the students of Bangladesh.
