School of Law organized a distinguished lecture on the historical development of laws related to land management in Bangladesh. The lecture was held on 5 October 2019 at Moot Court Room (UB70703). The speaker Md. Khalilur Rahman is a veteran lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh having more than forty years of practical experience in litigation particularly on land law related issues.
The half day long lecture was highlighting on the historical development of laws pertinent to land ownership, possession and entitlements starting from the British colonial era till date. The existing challenges and legal complexities attached with the land management system were well pointed out by the speaker. The lecture was immensely useful for students to develop interest in the pertinent area and get the opportunity of knowing practicality on the issue. The lecture session was chaired by K. Shamsuddin Mahmood, Professor and Dean of the School of Law.
