Upal Aditya Oikya, a graduate of the School of Law of BRAC University of 2016, has been awarded a Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship for pursuing his doctoral research at the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Law of the University of Pécs in Hungary. The scholarship covers tuition fees and supports accommodation costs for Oikya who is pursuing the PhD program on international law at the Department of International & European Law.
The history of higher education in Pécs dates back to 1367, when Louis the Great initiated the establishment of a university in the episcopal city of Pécs. The University of Pécs now has 20,000 students, over 4,500 of whom are international students, and 1,400 lecturers and researchers in its 10 faculties, making it one of the largest higher education institutions in Hungary and the centre of knowledge within the Transdanubian region.
