CSE faculty member, Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department, Brac University attended a conference “SPIE Photonics West 2019” as a speaker, held at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, CA, USA from 2-7 February. SPIE is the world’s largest society for Optical engineering and Photonics, including imaging science. Dr. Alam presented two papers titled “Glass free 3D internet TV System using Integral Imaging” and “Faster computation of elemental image generation for real-time integral imaging 3D display system using graphics processing unit and multi-directional projection scheme”.
These papers are also co-authored by 8 students of BRAC University – Amit Hasan, Firoz Nower Khan, Nur-E-Nisa, Ashraful Jnnat (first paper) and Md. Sifatul Islam, Mahfuze Subhani, Mohd. Zishan Tareque, Md. Rashidul Rahman Rafi (second paper). Md. Shahinur Rahman (PhD student in Chungbuk National University, Korea) and Professor Nam Kim (Professor of Chungbuk National University, Korea) are also co-author with these two papers. These research works were accomplished in collaboration with OIP Lab, Chungbuk National University, Korea. These research papers from Brac University attracted a great attention of the professors, scientist and researchers who were present in that session. The session chair professor Byoungho Lee was very impressed by these research works, specially the first paper.
